Linda Champion

Attorney

Ms. Champion’s practice is focused on litigation, government, municipal, and regulatory service. Ms. Champion serves as co-counsel to the firm’s public retirement board clients and supervises its extensive docket of MGL c. 32 cases from disability retirement to survivor issues and related workers compensation issues. She is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Public Pension Attorneys. Ms. Champion has successfully litigated cases before the Superior Court, District Court, Land Court, Housing Court, and at administrative law proceedings before state agencies and administrative courts. Prior to Ms. Champion’s retirement from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, she served as District and Municipal Court Legal Counsel to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. There she managed Suffolk County community prosecutions, hired and supervised assistant district attorneys practicing in specialty, district and municipal courts, and office personnel. For ten years, Ms. Champion served as Assistant General Counsel and represented the $44 million dollar Massachusetts’ Workers Compensation Trust Fund litigating applications under M.G.L Ch. 152, s. 65 and 37 including subrogation claims, mediation, settlement negotiations, and criminal and civil matters involving the fund. She began her public service career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, over the course of her tenure she held assignments in Dorchester and Roxbury District Court and Elders and Persons with Disabilities Superior Court Unit.

Ms. Champion is an adjunct professor at New England Law | Boston and her professional affiliations include Eastern Region Commissioner (Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women and Girls); Board Secretary (Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts); Member (Town of Milton’s Equity and Justice for All Committee); and Board Member (Boston Arts Academy). From 2021-2023, Commissioner (Boston Municipal Lobbying and Compliance Commission).

Ms. Champion is a graduate of Suffolk University and Suffolk University Law School.
